Heart in heart out...

I saw this really very cool idea for spicing up your baking recipes over on the ever delicious Smitten Kitchen over the weekend

Cool non?

Check out her recipes if some dinner party or just baking day inspiration is in need.

Easter time

I really wanted to get some Easter themed decorations done for my stand at the Market tomorrow but its not looking like its going to happen. So instead I'm going to pick out some of my favourites, close my eyes and pretend really really hard.

I was reminded recently that wreaths are not just for Easter...

I think willow would be a good material to use as the wreath base then weave in some fresh, or for longevity fake, flowers, tiny fluffy feathers and of course don't forget the eggs.

The delicate art of the painted egg, how amazing are these ones...

But these ones beat them all hands down

By Beth Magnuson, she carves these beautiful creations from actual, real eggs.

Here is how she described making this Handcarved Chicken Egg

'Before carving my design, I mask a portion of the egg shell with beeswax and to allow the remaining color to be removed in solution. In this case, a chicken egg was etched to reveal a white layer beneath the natural brown glossy topcoat. I sketch a flower and vine pattern on the brown portion of the shell and use a high speed drill to hand carve the design'
So impressed. I think thats a good note to end it on. Have a lovely long weekend everyone and a
Happy Easter. And If you're around Naas tomorrow between 10 and 3 pop in and say hello. There are lots of yummy food stands to browse through too.

Dear blank...

Sapling Press in collaboration with Dear blank, please blank have created these really quite cool letterpress cards. I think I'd use them as posters but what the hooh...

So very tongue in cheek, so very cool.

Hanging with Joey

I'm really digging this concept for a 'coat check chair' from Industrial Designer Joey Zeledón.

Although to be honest I don't think I'd want to hang up any coats. Just leave them as is. Pretty in Pink too.

News news news

Come one, come all! Tomorrow I will have a stand at the Farmers Market in Naas. The first Saturday of the month there is a craft section so, if you are in the area, come visit. It is just beside Trax Brasserie (formerly the Storehouse restaurant)  and starts at 10am. There will be a small gift for those that turn up at my stand and say that you read about it here. I'll have a wide selection of my cards for sale including Birthday, Thank You and Just a Note Cards. Also come and check out my new range of New Baby  and Easter Cards.

I will also have a selection of my Keepsake boxes. Each box is unique covered in vintage maps and materials. They can be commissioned for a special occasion so you can choose the theme to suit the recipient.

And don't forget the fairytale frames.

If you can't make it tomorrow you can also buy a selection of my products on my etsy store, including this pack of gorgous Thank you cards (below) that I've just posted, or by contacting me directly at studio@six0sixdesign.com
With Mothers Day just around the corner its the perfect place to come and get some inspiration.
Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday.
