Wednesday finds ... the seed of an idea

Well I have some good news and some bad news. Here's the good...

Entitled 'The Unilever Series' Chinese artist Ai Weiwei has filled the Turbine Hall in the Tate Modern with 100 million sunflower seeds. That in itself is averagely cool but then you add to it that these seeds are not real sunflowers but are in fact made from porcelain. Each one was painstakingly sculpted and painted by experts in workshops in the Chinese city of Jingdezhen. Its a very clever take on the 'made in China' phenomenon.

And now ladies and gentlemen for the bad...
I'm very bummed to say that they have stopped people interacting with the exhibition. According to the Tate people the dust created could have adverse health effects. And while I totally get that they need to cover their proverbial asses looking at them from afar just isn't the same thing.
